His sire, Paddys Irish Whiskey, only started standing to outside mares in 2001 and his present stud fee is $4,100. Surefine Whiskey was born to a Doc O Dynamite mare that was purchased from the John Scott Ranch in 2000.
Whiskey was in training through the fall of 2003 and into 2004 with Justin Lawrence for reined cowhorse. An injury ended his chances of going to the NRCHA futurity and we could see already we wanted to use him in our breeding program for 2005 so we brought him home and put him to work.

Our first crop of "Whiskey" foals was on the ground in 2006. We remain impressed but cautiously optimistic about these horses. The first and only filly we showed as a yearling, JO Whiskey Showdown, won numerous awards and an AQHA point at one AQHA show we attended. She was high point yearling in the Eastern Montana Show Circuit at three different shows, won the CCQHA Yearling Breeders Futurity, High Point Junior Mare at Halter, High Point Yearling at Halter, High Point Yearling Longe Line in the EMHSC Circuit, and was the high point yearling halter and high point longe line on the Black Hills Horse Show Circuit. This mare is a total package! Conformation, disposition, trainability, athleticism!
Foals from Surefine Whiskey were the high selling weanlings at both the PRQHBA Annual Sale and the Cow Country Quarter Horse Sale in 2007. To date, Whiskey offspring have earned more than $5,000 in earnings at local futurity competitions. See the events page for performers.

We lost Floating Interest in September of 2009 to colic. This was a special stallion who we were fortunate to have the opportunity to own. We are archiving this information here on our website as a reference for the colts we have from 2009 and that we are expecting in 2010.
Floating Interest is an own son of Dash For Cash out of Ramble with Effort SI 102 by Special Effort. His sire, Dash For Cash, is undoubtedly one of the greatest quarter horse racing athletes with 25 starts, 21 wins and 3 seconds, earnings of $507,687 and a speed index of 114. Dash For Cash was just as successful in the breeding barn as he was on the racetrack siring such standouts as On A High, Dashingly, Dashing Pheobe, First Down Dash and numerous others. Out of 20 foal crops and 1,368 foals, Dash For Cash produced 309 foals that had an 80+ speed index, 448 with a 90+ speed index, and 202 with a 100+ speed index. BF Phillips stated this horse had more intelligence than any horse he had ever been around and an incredible disposition. He passes on disposition and temperament as much as his conformation and athletic ability. Because of this, Dash For Cash spread his influence beyond the race track with horses like Miss N Cash, NCHA Open Derby Champion and earner of over $124,000 and Nothing But Cash, a gelding that twice placed among the top 10 junior calf roping horses at the AQHA World Quarter Horse Show. Watch the video below about Dash For Cash!

"Even if you have never set foot inside a race track or imagined the impact of a 55 mile-per-hour gust on a person clinging to the back of a horse, more than likely you have heard the name Dash For Cash. Arguably, Dash For Cash was the greatest sire of American Quarter Horses ever. His own statistics speak for themselves. In 1976 and 1977 he was Racing World Champion, Superior Racehorse in 1976 and set two track records. He won 21 of 25 starts, which included nine stakes races from 1975-1978. Additionally, he finished first or second in every race he entered except for one. He sired 1,353 foals that made him a living legend. Dash For Cash's offspring have earned more than $37 million, one AQHA Supreme Championship, 880 Registers of Merit, 39 world championships and 135 stakes winners. "
His dam, Ramble With Effort SI 102, was raced and had 16 starts, 4 wins, 1 second and 2 thirds with earnings of $45,608. Phillips and Moore leased this mare in 1992 and the beginning of 1993. She was then transferred to Bob Moore Farms. Her sire, Special Effort stood at the 6666 Ranch in Texas until his death in 2006. He was the only horse in history to win the two year old triple crown and earned in excess of $1,000,000. He was the sire of many standout horses including Bully Bullion, Special Leader and Elan's Special. Daughters of Special Effort have produced the winners of more than $25.7 million.
Floating Interest was bred by Bob Moore Farms from Norman, OK, was lightly raced, has a racing ROM and a speed index of 85. An injury after only 3 races cut his career short but a power packed pedigree he has! A full sibling, Cash Commotion, has a speed index of 94, 18 starts, 3 wins, 4 seconds and 1 third with earnings of $7,432. Bob Moore was an accomplished horseman with one of the most elite broodmare bands in the nation.

This horse offers some of the finest bloodlines in the quarter horse industry in his pedigree. He will be standing here at the ranch.
He has already produced some very nice timed event horses. Mazie Bur was ridden by Latricia Duke from Merkel, TX. She placed 20th in the $100,000 Pro Tour in 2004 with a time of 16.54 and is currently owned by Charlene Curry.
